I have a new obsession. It’s called Acro Yoga. If you haven’t heard of it yet, be ready to be amazed.
So far, I have been to two Acro Yoga workshops. Unfortunately, I have to drive two hours to get to the closest workshop/class/jam. But I will take every opportunity I get to practice this stunning form of yoga.
Reasons I love Acro Yoga:
1. It’s fun to do with my hubby and friends.
2. It builds trust.
3. It takes courage.
4. It helps with my yoga inversion practice.
5. It’s great for strength and flexibility.
6. It feels so good when you do something that looks impossible. It really is a rush.
I feel like Acro Yoga is to me what skydiving is to others. I am a very cautious person. Acro Yoga is terrifying to me, yet I am completely drawn to it.
As I continue my journey of yoga, I know that this will be a huge part of it. I highly recommend seeking out a workshop and trying it for yourself. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed. Want to get your sweetie or friend hooked? Have them watch these videos with you!
There are some pretty amazing videos out there showcasing this art. Here are some of my favorite.
Video 1: Acro Yoga ‘Cello Flow’ with Honza & Claudine LaFond, YogaBeyond
I love the camera angles used to shoot this. Also, the cello music goes perfectly with their routine.
Video 2: Acro Yoga by AcroNogaS
This couple did the same routine in several locations and put them together into one amazing video.
Video 3: Acro Yoga with Hagar Tsabar and Elad Sadeh
I could watch this one for hours. What makes it so amazing? The calm music, slow-paced routine, beautiful location, the skill, I could on forever. Please, watch this. And if you are like me, you will watch it again and again and again….
Pretty amazing, right? I have a long way to go, but I am determined to becoming an acro yogi!
