The author breaks down many of the basic yoga poses and gives clear simple instructions on how to do the poses. Lisa has also written a ton of other free ebooks (one of her others is included in this post!).

Basic Art of Adjustments: A Beginning Guide to Meaningful & Safe Adjustments in Yoga by Alanna Kaivalya would be a great read if you are a new yoga teacher or an experienced teacher that hasn’t used hands on adjustments in your classes before. Some of the things that this book covers are; basic concepts of how to apply adjustments to a wide variety of poses, the power of breath in an adjustment, and different hand shapes to use while making an adjustment. As a new yoga teacher, I found this book very helpful and plan to go back to it for future reference.
Ten Minute Yoga for Stress Relief, Focus, and Renewal
Ten Minute Yoga for Stress Relief, Focus, and Renewal by Lisa Shea is great for a yogi that is short on time. This book can have it downloaded on your phone or tablet. It is available to you when you have a short amount of time for a yoga session. As the author says, “something is always better than nothing.” The poses in this ten minutes session are simple enough for beginners, but someone with an advanced practice could deepen the poses and feel like they a nice yoga session.

Yoga: The Yoga Beginner’s Bible: Top 63 Illustrated Poses for Weight Loss, Stress Relief and Inner Peace is amazing! I would recommend it to anyone wanting to increase their yoga knowledge. This book, written by Tai Morello, is very comprehensive. It over 1,600 pages! The first part of the book goes over poses in detail. Readers will learn about each pose in detail. The Sanskrit and English name are given and a detailed description of how to do the pose. The benefits of the pose are also given. Each section groups poses; “yoga poses for weight loss and muscle tone”, “yoga poses for looking younger”, “yoga poses for relaxation”, etc. Breathing, meditation, and other helpful tips are covered towards the end of the book. This well-written book has actionable steps for deepening your yoga practice and is full of information. I would highly recommend it.
